The Egyptian government has notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) that it has imposed a provisional safeguard duty on steel billet and rebar imports for a period of 180 days starting from April 15. Mexican president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador announced on Monday he has renewed a 15 percent tariff over certain steel imports from China and other countries with which Mexico does not have trade agreements.
