Turkey raised customs duties for wire rod and bar imports

Turkey has increased the duty rates on wire rod and steel bar imports. The import duty on boron added wire rods now stands at 40 percent as opposed to the previously valid 3 percent duty rate. Australia initiated antidumping investigation against rebar imports

The Australian Government Antidumping Commission has announced that it has initiated an antidumping (AD) duty investigation against rebar imports from South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand and Turkey. Temporary tariffs imposed in Egypt

Egyptian Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade announced that; temporary tariffs have been imposed to protect domestic reinforcing steel bar manufacturers. The 7.3 percent tariffs will last for a maximum of 200 days, but could eventually be made permament, the ministry said. Preliminary AD duties on rebar imports from Mexico and Turkey to the U.S.

The U.S. Commerce Department set preliminary anti dumping duties of up to 66.7 percent on imports of reinforcing bars from Mexico and duties of up to 2.6 percent on Turkish imports, on Monday, April the 21st.
