Brazil initiates antidumping investigation for rebar imports from Turkey
The Brazilian government has announced that it has initiated an antidumping investigation on rebar imports from Turkey. The investigation was launched upon the complaint lodged by local producers Gerdau and ArcelorMittal, which claimed that rebar imports from Turkey were dumped and have been causing material injury to the domestic industry. The investigation covers the period between July 2014 and June 2015.
In their application, Gerdau and ArcelorMittal claimed that in Turkey rebar was sold at $606.63/mt, while in Brazil Turkey sold the product at $555.27/mt. The products subject to antidumping investigation currently fall within the Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7213.10.00, 7214.20.00, 7227.20.00, 7227.90.00 and 7228.30.00.
