Australia initiates CVD investigation for wire rod imports from China
Australia’s Antidumping Commission has announced that it has initiated a countervailing duty (CVD) investigation regarding imports of wire rod from China.
The application lodged by Australian wire rod producer OneSteel Manufacturing Pty Ltd claims that the goods in question exported to Australia have been in receipt of countervailable subsidies from China and that the subsidization has caused material injury to the Australian industry through price depression, price suppression, price undercutting, lost market share, lost sales volume, loss of profitability, loss of employment and loss of capacity to produce the like goods.
The investigation will cover the period between July 1, 2014 and June 30, 2015, and the goods in question currently fall under Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7213.91.00 and 7227.90.90.
