US DOC issues final AD/CVD decisions for wire rod imports from five countries
The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced its final determinations in the antidumping duty investigations of imports of carbon and alloy steel wire rod from Italy, South Korea, Spain, Turkey and the UK and countervailing duty investigations of the same imports from Italy and Turkey.
Antidumping duty rates are as follows:
Italy
- Ferriere Nord S.p.A. : 12.41%
- Ferriera Valsider S.p.A. : 18.89%
- All Others : 12.41%
South Korea
- POSCO : 41.10%
- All Others : 41.10%
Spain
- Global Steel Wire S.A : 11.08%
- CELSA Atlantic S.A. : 11.08%
- Compania Espanola de Laminacion: 11.08%
- ArcelorMittal Espana S.A : 32.64%
- All Others : 11.08%
Turkey
- Habas : 4.74%
- Icdas : 7.94%
- All Others : 6.34%
UK
- British Steel Limited : 147.63%
- Longs Steel UK Limited : 147.63%
- All Others : 147.63%
Countervailing duty rates are as follows:
Italy
- Ferriere Nord S.p.A. : 4.16%
- Ferriera Valsider S.p.A. : 44.18%
- All Others : 4.16%
Turkey
- Habas : 3.86%
- Icdas : 3.81%
- All Others : 3.84%
The petitioners for the investigations are Gerdau Ameristeel US Inc., Nucor Corporation, Keystone Consolidated Industries and Charter Steel.
If the US International Trade Commission (ITC) makes affirmative final injury determinations, the DOC will issue antidumping and countervailing duty orders. If the ITC makes negative final determinations of injury, the investigations will be terminated and no orders will be issued. The ITC is expected to announce its decision on May 3.
